Taken in the Pocock Garden, Christ Church. This tree is reportedly the inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s nonsense poem Jabberwocky. Charles Dodgson (pen name Lewis Carroll) held the Christ Church Mathematical Lectureship for 26 years from 1855 after obtaining a first-class honours degree in Mathematics from Oxford as a student at Christ Church.

James has recently graduated from Oxford University and is now a lay clerk at Peterborough Cathedral; more of his photographs can be accessed here.
